VI Secolo

VI Secolo is a wine capable of fully expressing the character, strength and impetus of Magliocco in absolute purity.
The harvest is carried out manually between the third and fourth week of November, after a period of over-ripening on the vine and
a slight drying of the bunches in small boxes in the sun and wind of the Pollino.
A maceration of approximately 20 days allows full extraction and complete maturation of the tannins. The wine matures in French oak barriques for 24 months, and then remains to refine for another 24 months in the bottle in a Sila granite cave.
Bright garnet red in colour, it expresses itself on the nose with tones of berries, cocoa and black pepper.
On the palate it is a combination of opulence and elegance, with a velvety and persistent body, with a spicy finish that recalls notes of liquorice.

Geographical Location: Province of Cosenza in the heart of the Sila National Park (Spezzano della Sila) and the Pollino National Park (Frascineto)
Soil: Vineyards located at altitudes from 500 to 650 m above sea level. Mixed soils with an excellent skeleton composed of clay and rock

Vineyards: Sapling-trained with a density of 4,000 plants per hectare
Harvest: selective manual harvesting of individual bunches, to be used for long drying in special boxes in the sun and wind of the Pollino
Vinification: Maceration on the skins, racking, soft pressing and subsequent fermentation at a controlled temperature
Maturation: At a controlled temperature in stainless steel containers
Aging: Barriques 24 months and another 24 months in bottle
